AVIATION - The images show the violence of the crash. On Wednesday, December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in western Kazakhstan, near the city of Aktau, a port on the Caspian Sea. According to initial information from local rescue services, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board, and 28 of them were found alive and taken into care. The plane, an Embraer 190, was flying from Baku, the Azerbaijani capital, to Grozny, the capital of the Russian Caucasian republic of Chechnya. "The airliner crashed near Aktau.
