Audio play Money and Nothing by George Orwell Gordon Comstock, a failed writer and poet, works in an old bookstore and lives in absolute poverty. He is an enemy of money and thinks that all the problems and issues in the world are because of money. After some time, Gordon earns a lot of money by selling his poems. Gordon Comstock, a failed writer and poet, works in an old bookstore and lives in absolute poverty. His relationship with Rosemary - the girl he is in love with - is not very good and Gordon tries to improve this relationship. On the other hand, Raulston - Gordon's friend who is a socialist - tries to invite Gordon to the Socialist Party, but Gordon has other ideas. He is hostile to money and thinks that all the problems and issues in the world are because of money. Rosemary suggests to Gordon that they go out for a picnic. Gordon barely borrows money from Julia (his sister) and then goes on a picnic with Rosemary. After an argument about money, Gordon proposes to Rosemary, knowing he does not have the financial means to marry. After some time, an American magazine buys Gordon's poems at an exorbitant price, and Gordon, who is an enemy of money, sees himself as the owner of a huge amount of money. All his relatives change their behavior towards him, and this causes him to burn all the salary of writing his poems. The police arrest him, but he is released on Ravelston's bail. Upon hearing the story, Rosemary leaves Gordon and he continues to fight with money in the crowd...
