The artificial lake of Marathon, 28 km from the center of Athens, in the northeastern part of Attica, is an ideal choice for a seasonal getaway. Just a straight line from Athens - Lamia takes us to the impressive attraction of this historic municipality. Stop for a morning coffee with a view of the lake and then walk to the dam and the small church located at its base and representing the victory of people against water scarcity. A visit to the EYDAP facilities and the Water Museum is a dive into the history of knowledge and evolution. Next stop at the natural balcony above the lake, the chapel of Agia Triada and then a walk in the lakeside forest to end up at the natural swimming pool that exists here, at Lake Marathon. And after so much walking, it's impossible... the stomach protests strongly. We drive to the village of Kaletzi, ready to accept its most delicious unique offerings!
