A trial over the death of a wealthy man known as "Don Juan of Kishu." The prosecution appealed the acquittal of his ex-wife. Defendant Saki Sudo (28) was charged with somehow killing her husband, wealthy man Kosuke Nozaki (then 77), known as "Don Juan of Kishu," six years ago by somehow giving him a lethal dose of stimulants, but she claims innocence. The prosecution sought a life sentence, accumulating indirect evidence such as the defendant's contact with a stimulant drug dealer about a month and a half before Nozaki's death and the defendant's search history. In its ruling on December 12, the Wakayama District Court pointed out that "it cannot be denied that the item he received from the drug dealer was rock sugar." It acquitted Sudo, saying, "Although there are circumstances that lead us to suspect that the defendant may have killed him, it cannot be denied that Nozaki accidentally took a lethal dose of stimulants and died." On December 24, the Wakayama District Public Prosecutors Office announced that it had appealed the ruling to the Osaka High Court. ▼MBS NEWS HP https://www.mbs.jp/news/ ▼The latest news and special features are delivered every day.
