Anglesey was separated from the mainland until a hundred years ago. As a result, many traditions have been preserved. 70 percent of the people here speak Welsh and probably just as many sing in a choir. Dafydd Jones is actually a craftsman, but every Thursday he becomes choir director. A group of five friends has now become a real choir - with concerts all over Europe. Anglesey is the largest island in the Irish Sea - its 200-kilometer-long coastline has been declared an "area of outstanding natural beauty" and is considered an important habitat for flora and fauna. This is exactly what the photographer Glyn Davies likes. When the storms whip across the island in autumn, he rides his bike out into nature. Then the landscape unfolds a unique drama. Away from the hectic London life and the world of the tabloid press, Prince William was stationed on the island as a rescue pilot. He lived on Anglesey with his wife Catherine for three years. But the relaxed residents did not let this stress them out. Stan Zalot organizes the small harbor in Beaumaris in the east of the island. He fondly remembers the prince and the conversations they had about boats. #wocomoTRAVEL #BritishIsles Original title: The Queen's Islands © Licensed by Berlin Producers
