"No, it was not the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that most of the people's heads were placed between vises, on which screws were constantly being turned," he adds. Commenting on Estonia's current developments on the basis of various examples, he says that sometimes it feels as if there are people in decision-making positions who do not understand what a free society is and why Estonia did not want to be the Estonian SSR. "We don't want to go back to a place where we are literally oppressed intellectually and spiritually," he notes.
