In this lesson, we will continue to practice our listening comprehension of English and listen to an instructive story in English. Below are links to the sections of the video. For optimal results, we recommend listening to all sections in a row! 00:00 Introduction 00:35 Story without subtitles 04:18 Story with subtitles 08:22 In parts with voiceover of the translation 27:03 Without translation and without subtitles (at a faster pace) You will hear the story several times: (1) First, without translation and without subtitles, at a slow pace with pauses between phrases and sentences so that you have time to hear familiar words and understand the general idea. (2) Then again without translation, but with subtitles. You can follow the text to strengthen your reading skills and better understand the story. (2) Then we will listen to the story in parts. Try to repeat after the speaker. This is a great way to improve your listening comprehension of English, and it's also good practice for speaking. (3) Finally, you'll hear the story without subtitles and without translation, at a pace closer to conversational speech. Don't be discouraged if you can't understand everything right away!
