In the program series 'Amsterdam Icons' we welcome a special Amsterdammer to talk to about their work, life and connection with the city. During this episode, one of the largest hospitality entrepreneurs in Amsterdam is our guest, namely Won Yip. Yip grew up in Zeeland, together with his parents, sister and two brothers. His father ran a successful restaurant there and entrepreneurship was instilled in him from an early age. Won Yip opened his first café in Goes at the age of 19 and two years later he bought his second business, Café Zwart in the middle of Dam Square in Amsterdam. This was the starting point of his career as perhaps the most successful and hard-working hospitality entrepreneur in our city. Tonight he takes time out of his busy schedule to tell us more about his life.
