Born in Trabzon, Emel Bayrak stepped into America exactly 20 years ago. Struggling to survive with her two daughters, Ms. Emel started university to overcome the difficulties in her marriage and build a new future for herself. The separation she experienced while finishing university did not discourage her; on the contrary, she took determined steps to realize her dreams by trusting in America's equal opportunities. She was denied a visa while trying to complete her master's degree. With the help of a teacher, she was able to overturn this denial and get a visa to come to America. She had many experiences in the business world, but she lost all her jobs with the economic crisis in 2009. However, Ms. Emel did not give up. While completing her education, she wrote a thesis on lobbying relations between Turkey and America and started working at a lobbying company. She made a great effort to develop relations between Turkey and America. During this period, she worked as a White House correspondent and traveled with Obama and attended meetings. With these experiences, the idea of opening a café to further promote Turkish culture in America was born. Presidents and their spouses started coming to this café and loved the Turkish delights. This wonderful venue, which was chosen as the 2nd best cafe in Washington DC in 2020, will soon be hosting talks and events. If you are ever around, we definitely recommend stopping by. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Production: Fimographer.co Director: Kaan Öztürk Production Manager: Mahmut Şenyuva Editing: Kaan Ergüven & Recep Güneş Social Media: Buse Yağmur Barlık Ergüven & Nisa Özden Special Thanks: Pınar Öztürk & İbrahim Derindere ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To follow us on other platforms; Instagram: @SeyirHikayem / seyiramerika Tiktok: / seyirhikayem Facebook: / 913819057075597 #americadayaşayantürkler #başarıhikayeleri #americadayasam
