Thanks to markers and advances in imaging, we know how to detect the appearance of lesions caused by Alzheimer's disease in the brain, well before the first symptoms appear, but we do not yet know how to block their progression. This stage, on which much research is focused, will be decisive in the fight against this scourge. Alzheimer's is now the fourth leading cause of death in France. In 2020, it is estimated that one in four French people aged over 65 will be affected by the disease, while more than a million will be directly affected.
