The first delivered Alstom Metropolis BM4 metro frame, namely 1402-2402 "Giurgiu", started already a week ago, the tests on the commercial network, between Tudor Arghezi and Berceni stations (head Y). Officially presented in September 2024, 1402-2402 has so far only performed in-house tests, within the Berceni depot. Starting from November 9, the frame is also released on Saturdays (at least until now). It shuttles throughout the day between the Tudor Arghezi station and the Y end of the Berceni station (up to the entrance signal to the station). Thus opens an important chapter, being the first daily tests performed with this type of train. Traffic suffered small disruptions due to this demonstration, traffic between Tudor Arghezi and Berceni being carried out only on line 2, regardless of the direction of travel. The return of trains to Pipera on line 1 was made at the exit from the Berceni station. The 13 Alstom Metropolis frames ordered by Metrorex in 2020 are intended for Highway 5, to be in service from the spring of 2025. They have a capacity of 1,200 passengers, of which 216 are on seats. They are equipped with a new automation system, Alstom Urbalis 400, installed only on the M5, which will allow the movement of trains at a minimum interval of 90 seconds. 0:00 - Intro 0:21 - Brief presentation 2:33 - Trials
