At Brescia station there are continuous transits from the FB Frecciabianca with the E 414 to the freight trains with the E 483, E 652, E 655, E 186. The Brescia-Cremona line is electrified and the service is carried out by ALe 582 and trains of low-floor carriages. But ... not always. Due to the chronic shortage of electric locomotives, here are the old ALn 668 all-purpose trains replacing battered electric rolling stock. While waiting for an ALn 668 to Cremona, I take the brand new, 4-month-old Brescia metro. One stop and I get off at Piacenza's Piazza della Vittoria. The trains are Ansaldo-Breda, automatic and driverless, driverless trains: technically it is an automatic light metro, Ansaldo-STS, at 750 volts direct current and third rail. An hour later I return to the station, still the stage for many ALn 668s, including those of the former SNFT, now Trenord, Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway (the 131 and 132 are present). Tigre E 652 passes by; ALn 668 1019 and 1088 leave for Parma. From Cremona, hurray! ALn 668 1845 and 1812 arrive ... which I take to Cremona. The entire 1800 series are at the end of their career, a matter of a few months. S. Zeno-Folzano station, carriages and ironworks; a Badoni in passing. At Bagnolo Mella we come across the isolated ALn 668 1030. The stations on the line are run down; Verolanuova is doing well, given for use to 4 associations. Then Robecco-pontevico and the unwatchable Olmeneta. We arrive in Cremona alongside the line from Mantua. In the yard, D 146, E 652, two ALn 668, the 1017 and the 1113, ready for ... Treviglio, another electrified line. Shunting of 668; the two leave for Treviglio. Cremona is still a bit of an open-air museum today. An E 655 passes; from Codogno arrives the ALn 668 3211, series 3100. In the Depot there is the D 445 1080 still active, the D 345 1015 set aside. Freight transits with E 652, an E 186 multi-voltage Line, the 910; a train of derelict and demolished carriages hauled by E 652 ... squalid catwalk. I'm leaving for Brescia on a normal train of old, low-floor carriages... and in this video I'm inserting short clips of a little video of mine from 1995, in the cabin of the ALe 940 066 Fanta, with the same route seen 18 years earlier, starting from Cremona where the steamer 940 022 was shunting. The comparison between the stations of 1995 and the same non-stations of today is demoralizing. In Brescia 2013, Frecciargento ETR 485 ready for Rome, in Brescia 1995 ALn 668 ex SNFT in historic livery, dazzling E 444R with adequate carriages for the IC Valpadana To-Ve, many ALe 801-940 Fanta shunting, E 636 in brown livery. I leave for Grumello on the Brescia-Bergamo line, and here too I insert clips of how it was about twenty years ago. Passing through Palazzolo, a look, always, at the FBS rolling stock, with an unusual Badoni that replaces the historic one, under maintenance.
