Magnificent and spectacular, the Royal Palace of Caserta, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built by order of Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples and Sicily, who wanted to give the city the role of capital city on a European level. Charles of Bourbon thus decided to inaugurate a palace that could rival Versailles in magnificence and grandeur. With an extension of approximately 47,000 square meters, the Royal Palace of Caserta is the largest royal residence in the world by volume. Designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, the Palace includes, in addition to the palace and the English and Italian gardens, an aqueduct. Thanks to a hydraulic system that recalls that of Roman aqueducts, an artificial river descends from the top of the hill that dominates the Bourbon palace, forming enormous pools and fountains with a wonderful scenographic force. With over 1200 rooms, the interiors are a hymn to luxury and pomp, but also to elegance; the furnishings and frescoes were in fact designed by the main artists of the kingdom. Speakers: Tiziana Maffei (Heritage Architect, Director of the Royal Palace of Caserta) Michele Scolletta (Head of Allianz Network Italy - Allianz Global Investors) Andrea Rizzolo (Vice President, Morgan Stanley Investment Management)
