Ophthalmologist. Tyrannosaurus Rex. Proparoxytone. On purpose. Alice has just turned two, but she pronounces these huge words so well that she started going viral with videos on social media. The first video that went viral was in February of this year. “And then it was one after the other, all very fast,” says her mother, Morgana Secco. As is often the case with other children, the videos began to be recorded since Alice was born and are shared with friends and family through social media and chat apps. Alice’s language acquisition process gained momentum around eight months of age, when she tried to say the word potato, babbling “tatáta.” At one year and one month old, she started trying to repeat all the words she heard at home and speak sentences with several words. “That was when we realized that she had an aptitude for this and that she liked it, and that she was somewhat precocious compared to other children,” says Morgana. Her mother also shares a tip – that Alice “doesn’t watch TV or know what a cell phone is.” Elisa Kriezis, from BBC News Brasil, met the Brazilian family, who live in London. Check out the video.
