In recent decades, Brazil's agricultural production has become completely focused on the mass production of commodities for the foreign market. Commodities are products that have little added value, that is, products that do not undergo a process of alteration before being marketed. Brazil is the third largest exporter of commodities. Approximately 70% of the products exported by Brazil come from the agricultural sector (primary sector). Products such as beef, sugar, orange juice and coffee are products that are on the rise in relation to Brazilian exports. In the coming years, the trend in agricultural production in Brazil is for the production of commodities to increase more and more. Therefore, there will probably be an increase in the land used for agriculture destined for the planting of these commodities. This unbridled production of commodities, promoted by large agribusiness entrepreneurs, directly by Brazilian political groups, can cause serious internal problems for Brazil. With the prioritization of products destined for export, the Brazilian market will increasingly lack basic food products, which in Brazil are produced by family farmers and movements such as the Landless Workers' Movement (MST). Agribusiness has taken on gigantic proportions and is responsible for taking the lands of those who produce the basics of Brazilian food.
