Facebook : / adisebaba Twitter : / adisebabafilm Our e-mail address where you can contact us directly: [email protected] Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a folk tale first collected and published by the German Grimm Brothers in 1812.[1][2] It tells the adventures of a princess who is sent to the forest to be killed by her evil and jealous stepmother because she is prettier than her, and who starts living with the dwarfs in the forest. It has been adapted for theater and cinema many times. The name of the story (and the protagonist) in the first publication was Sneewittchen (Snow White) in German.[3] When Snow White's mother dies, her father (the king) remarries, but the stepmother (the new queen) mistreats Snow White. The evil queen has a magic mirror and often asks the mirror who the most beautiful person in the world is. The magic mirror, which tells the truth, always confirms the queen's beauty until Snow White grows up to be a young and beautiful girl. [3] When the queen learns that Snow White is more beautiful than herself, she goes into a jealous rage and orders one of the hunters to kill the young girl. [3] The hunter cannot bear Snow White and sets her free in the forest. Snow White begins to live with a family of dwarves in the forest. After a while, the evil queen, who learns that the young girl is alive, goes to the dwarfs' house disguised as an old woman and poisons Snow White with a poisoned apple. [3] The dwarves begin to keep the young girl, who has fallen into a deep sleep, in a glass coffin. A prince passing by falls in love with the girl in the coffin and convinces the dwarves to take the coffin with him. The servants drop the coffin as they move through the forest. The poisoned apple piece in Snow White's throat falls out as a result of the fall and the young girl wakes up.[3] The young couple decide to get married and invite the old king and the evil queen to their wedding. The queen, who thinks Snow White is dead, decides to come to the wedding when she sees in her mirror that the young queen is more beautiful than herself. Here the truth is revealed and the queen dies dancing in the hot iron shoes she was given as punishment.[3]
