※ This video is part of <Documentary Prime - Where is my last home? Part 1: A Perfect Wall Day> broadcast on May 13, 2024. The production team of Where is my last home, Part 1: A Perfect Wall Day stayed at a hospice hospital for about 5 months from spring to fall of 2023 and observed 'hospice and the people inside it'. Through the video records, they show the role of modern medicine necessary for those facing death and the perspective of our society. The public's perception of hospice is as follows. 'A place that does nothing for you', 'A place to go to die', 'A place to end your life', 'A sad and dark place'. However, that idea is very wrong. Hospice is a 'place to go to live well'. Rather, it is a place where terminally ill patients who are tired of the endless treatment and improvement of hospitals and nursing facilities go to 'live their own lives'. It is not easy for patients to protect the life they have cherished and loved in the face of a terminal illness. To this end, hospice medical staff, patients, and their guardians are also constantly afraid, worried, discussed, and conflicted in front of the word death. This documentary will ponder these questions at the center of it all. Through 'Hospice Hospital', this documentary examines the keywords 'human condition', 'human life', and 'subjectivity of life' that our society and modern medicine are missing at the end of life. 'What is needed for a person suffering from the pain of illness and at the end of life?'
