Many people use the terms ADHD and ADD interchangeably, but it should be remembered that these are not terms that have the same meaning. Despite some similarities between these entities, ADHD and ADD have many features that allow us to differentiate these disorders. So what are the differences between ADHD and ADD? How is ADHD diagnosed in children and how is ADHD diagnosed in adults? Is it possible to distinguish between ADHD and ADD in girls and boys? The guest of the webinar - Dr. Artur Wiśniewski, who specializes in the treatment and therapy of children, adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders - will answer questions related to supporting the development and functioning of people with ADHD and ADD. Together with the host of the meeting - Michalina Mruczyk, they will also discuss the most frequently repeated myths about ADHD and ADD. Dr. n. med. Artur Wiśniewski - He has been working as a physician since 2000, initially within the 1st Psychiatric Clinic of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, he gained professional experience in the Clinic of Developmental Psychiatry. Since 2005 he has also been helping as a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist. For almost 2 years he has been participating in the creation of new standards of assistance in child and adolescent psychiatry within the Community Mental Health Center for Children and Adolescents in Warsaw Bielany. Since 2013 he has been the substantive director of four-year postgraduate studies in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy at the Branch in Poznań, organized within the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy of the SWPS University, he previously gained teaching and scientific experience as an assistant professor at the Clinic of Developmental Psychiatry of the WUM. He graduated from the Medical Academy in Warsaw, specializing in psychiatry at the 1st Psychiatric Clinic at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, and specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Department of Developmental Psychiatry in Warsaw, he completed postgraduate training in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy under the supervision of prof. Marek Reinecke. He specializes in the treatment/therapy of: children and adolescents, but also adults, mainly with neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD in children, adolescents and adults). He belongs to the Polish Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (PTTPB), and the Polish Psychiatric Association (PTP). Michalina Mruczyk - psychologist working with youth. Graduate of clinical psychology at SWPS University. Currently, she works at the Spark Academy high school in Poznań and teaches Psychology at the Poznań faculty of SWPS University.
