Follow me: Facebook: / urbexrelax Instagram: / urbexrelax Today we are visiting an abandoned hotel in Tenerife. The facility was built in 1966 and was located right on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, in the small town of Candelaria. This 3-star hotel was one of the most famous in the south of the island. It had 91 rooms, and guests had a bar, garden, games room, billiards room, disco, souvenir shop, four swimming pools (including one with sea water), TV room, laundry, parking, conference rooms, restaurant, photocopier and fax and of course an amazing view of the ocean from the room windows. The hotel operated for 45 years and enjoyed really good opinions among tourists. However, according to sources, the hotel was generating too little profit and required too frequent renovations due to the subsidence of the ground beneath it and probably the proximity of the ocean. In 2011, the owners decided to close it. The hotel quickly fell into disrepair and soon began to be visited by homeless people, vandals and the so-called social underclass. To this day, there have been several fires, numerous reports of disturbances and even a body was found here. I found an article from 2 years ago that said there were plans to redevelop the place. But no details were given. I only take my photos, I only leave my footprints.
