The Great Patriotic War, a quiet Transbaikal village. Young nurse Pashka, who recently returned from the front, is expecting a child. But their family still has to fight for a peaceful future. A touching war drama about life in the rear and on the front lines from director Nikolai Gadomsky. The plot is based on the work of writer Elena Chubenko, inspired by a true story. Representatives of different generations of Transbaikalia live under the roof of one modest village house. Neither children nor old people are spared by the war, and only by holding on to each other do they maintain hope. Thus, a grieving elderly couple, Yelisey and Matryona, take in a little orphan girl, Anyuta. And one fine day they receive happy news - their daughter Pashka has come to them. In her early twenties, she went to the front as a nurse and selflessly pulled the wounded out from under fire. She returned home with medals and an unborn child. The father does not hold back his anger when he finds out that his beloved daughter became pregnant by a married man. But life at the front taught Pashka not to be afraid and not to give up. Meanwhile, Yelisey himself recalls his own secrets of youth, which he did not share even with his wife.
