An exposition sermon by Pastor Peter Schild on Luke 16:19-31: There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and lived every day in luxury and splendor. But a poor man named Lazarus lay at the gate of the rich man, covered with sores, and he desired to eat the scraps from the rich man's table. But the dogs also came and licked his sores. And it came to pass that the poor man died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died and was buried. And when he had opened his eyes in Hades, he was in torments, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in torment in this flame. But Abraham said, "Son, remember that you received your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise evil things; but now he is comforted here, but you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you a great gulf is fixed, so that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, nor those who would pass from there to us." And he said, "I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment." But Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them." But he said, "No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent." And he said to him, "If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced if one rises from the dead." __ Website: https://www.erb-frankfurt.de/ SermonAudio: https://www.sermonaudio.com/source_de...
