ZDF Magazin Royale Abroad! We left the windowless offices of Studio Ehrenfeld behind us to clear our heads in Mother Nature. We threw on a softshell jacket, put on some toe shoes and headed off into the beautiful Sachsenwald forest in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, the promised land of the very young CDU veteran Daniel Günther. When we stopped at a mysterious hut, however, we were taken aback more than once. Why are there so many mailboxes at the entrance? Why are there 21 company headquarters in a hut in the middle of the forest? And why do people always dress for a 10-kilometer hike as if they were going to climb Nanga Parbat with Reinhold Messner? Suddenly the forest smelled not only of jogger sweat and wild boar droppings, but also of a tax haven.
