Towards the end of the Pacific War, two huge earthquakes struck the Tokai region. The Tonankai earthquake in December 1944 and the Mikawa earthquake in January 1945. Each caused great damage, with over 1,000 people killed or missing, but at the time, the government imposed a strict gag order due to the fact that it was wartime. Amidst all this, one man continued to film the earthquake damage, despite the risk of being arrested by the police.
