How to grow prickly pear at home (Planting prickly pear in a pot) It is preferable when planting prickly pear to plant it in panels and not in palms because the panels speed up its growth process and the palm can remain for 3-4 years until it bears fruit. Add compost + peat moss + sand + a small amount of livestock manure and mix them well. For planting, separate a panel from the mother plant. The panel consists of 3 palms and the separation area is at the node between the palms. Leave the panel to dry in a shaded and well-ventilated place for a period of a week to about 10 days. Do not plant it immediately after separation so that it does not rot in the soil. The same applies to palms. Plant in large pots or barrels to give more fruit by planting the panel or palm in the soil and then watering. It is preferable not to over-water so that it does not rot.
