It is designated as National Intangible Cultural Property No. 92. Today's Taepyeongmu is the Han Yeong-suk style Taepyeongmu, passed down from Han Seong-jun to Han Yeong-suk to Park Jae-hee. The late Han Yeong-suk further refined and developed the dance form of her grandfather Han Seong-jun based on her own aesthetic sense and artistry. It is a dance that has been passed down to this day without losing its traditional nature by his disciple Park Jae-hee. This Taepyeongmu is characterized by the aesthetic elements of court dance that emphasize restraint and the excitement and liveliness of folk dance, so it is a symbolic dance that encapsulates and displays the characteristics of our traditional culture and arts. It also includes various rhythms that are not easily found in other dances, such as pu-sal, teo-bal-lim, ol-lim-chae, bal-ppe-de-re, and gyeop-ma-chi-gi, as well as unique and detailed footwork, restrained breathing, and elegant yet spirited and noble dance steps.
