The investment aims to connect the Łódź Fabryczna station with the Łódź Kaliska station and the Łódź Żabieniec railway station using a tunnel bored underground by the TBM. The official name of the investment is: "Unblocking the Łódź Railway Junction (TEN-T), Stage II, Section Łódź Fabryczna - Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec". This is an exceptionally complicated operation, as a large part of the tunnel runs under the city center and the old tenement houses located on the surface.
