6-year-old Veeti fell ill with incurable cancer four years ago. Now the treatments have stopped and the family is living one day at a time, preparing for hospice care at home. Veeti squeezes a soft toy in her lap, which she has named Tare after her favorite movie. The toy I got when I was 2 years old has brought security during numerous trips to the hospital. - Inside my head live pieces of torture. They are such invisible creatures and that's why I have to put a superman spike on me, Veeti clarifies. Even superman spikes are no longer useful. Veeti passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 1, 2021, only a few days after the article was first published.
