Signs of readiness for introducing solid foods Are you eager to start feeding your baby? Did you know that, in addition to the minimum age, the baby needs to be ready to introduce solid foods? The World Health Organization recommends starting to introduce solid foods from the sixth month of life. From this age onwards, the baby's gastrointestinal system is already prepared to receive other foods. Before that, breast milk is sufficient and not even water is necessary. Introducing solid foods early can cause some problems in the future, such as obesity and allergies... So, to start introducing solid foods, the baby must already be 6 months old. In addition, he/she must also show some signs that he/she is ready for this moment. And these signs are called signs of readiness. The 5 main signs are: 1-Supporting the trunk and head, the baby has good neck support, favoring swallowing and reducing the risk of choking. 2-Sitting alone or with minimal support. 3-If he/she is interested in food. The baby begins to follow the parents' feeding, showing interest in the food, he may even try to grab the food 4-The baby is able to bring objects to his mouth. He is developing the pincer movement. At first, the food will be more like toys in the baby's mouth 5-The tongue protrusion reflex has already decreased: the baby starts to stick his tongue out less, making it easier to chew and swallow food ✅ Subscribe to the channel: / marymaededois ✅ Follow me on Instagram: @mary.maededois ✅ Also watch: ✔ BLW Food Introduction: What it is and What are the Benefits: • BLW Food Introduction: What it is and Wh... ✔ FOOD INTRODUCTION X BREASTFEEDING: • FOOD INTRODUCTION X BREASTFEEDING Hello, I'm Mary, a mother of two!
