Here I explain 4 ways that I use to teach my dogs to heel. Not every variant is suitable for every dog, so I simply see which option works best with which dog. We like to use these products: Clicker: https://amzn.to/3GqrlWv Doggone Good treat bag: https://amzn.to/3hR70kM (The links are paid affiliate links. This does not incur any additional costs for you. Information about training: Important: As always, I build it up very step by step and in short training units! If my dog tends to jump up at me: always feed/reward so that all 4 paws are on the ground (note the comment in the video), walk more slowly if necessary. If a dog starts jumping up every time I reach into the bag, I immediately pull my hand out of the treat bag/jacket pocket, wait a moment, and try again to get a treat out without my dog reaching towards my hand. Our dogs learn very quickly to wait on the floor and that the reward always goes to the dog anyway. BUT: If I have clicked or marked, I MUST give the reward promptly. Also important: I always give the reward with my left hand if possible, otherwise the dog often walks a little diagonally in front of you. With dogs that tend to walk too far back: I give the reward more towards the front. For example, with my arm stretched out a little bit to hand the reward there, or I throw the reward away. With dogs that tend to walk too far forward: I fasten the treat bag on the right and take the reward out with my right hand, pass it behind the back into the left hand and hand it not at leg height, but rather a little behind it. ------------------------------------------------- We regularly show you on our channel how we train or have trained certain things, what we pay attention to, which sources of error we have often encountered in training, etc. It's all about training and everyday life with a family dog! I want to show you that you can really achieve a lot without violence and with a lot of fun on both sides and hope to be able to give you lots of nice ideas on how to deal with your own dog! #dogtraining #ytshorts #australianshepherds Advertising: Check out our Facebook page: / australiansh. .
