Herod , seeking to please the Jews, also arrested Peter with the intention of publicly executing him. However, the church was fervently praying for Peter, and God sent an angel to miraculously free him from prison. Peter informed the church of his release and then withdrew to another place. Soon after, Herod met a tragic end when he was praised as a god and was struck by a fatal illness. The text concludes by highlighting that, despite the persecution and adversities faced, the Word of God continued to grow and multiply, preparing the way for Paul's first missionary journey.
