For according to their ability (of which I myself testify) and even beyond their ability they gave willingly, begging us with much entreaty that we would accept of the grace and fellowship of this ministry, which was done for the saints. And they did not only as we expected, but gave themselves first to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. So that we exhorted Titus that, as he had begun before, so he would complete this grace among you. Therefore, just as you abound in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us, so may you also abound in this grace. I do not say this as one who commands, but to prove by the diligence of others the sincerity of your love. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. And in this I give my opinion, for this is to your advantage, since you began a year ago, and it was not only to do, but also to will. But now also complete what you have begun, that just as there was the readiness of will, there may be also the completion according to what you have. For if there is a readiness of will, it is accepted according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. Now I do not say this that others may be eased and you burdened, but for equality, that you may be free from the burden of others. At this present time your abundance may supply what is lacking to others, so that their abundance may also supply what is lacking to you, so that there may be equality. As it is written: “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.” 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 Some indeed preach Christ out of contention, not purely as they think they are adding affliction to my bonds; but others out of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel. - Philippians 1:16,17 Follow our Social Networks: / defendingthegospel / defendingtheevangelhooficial / defendingtheevangelhooficial / defensegospel
