(This episode is narrated in the Guarani Mbya language. You can activate Portuguese subtitles in the video settings menu.) Who is Nhamandu? “There was only darkness. Many times, from the midst of the darkness, our Mother made our true Father blossom.” - Carlos Papá In the third episode of the Sol cycle, Carlos Papá tells the Guarani narrative about the emergence of the Sun and life on Earth – from the primordial darkness and the beginning of creation to the first human being, a woman, and the story of her son, “the future Sun”. The SOL cycle consists of 17 narratives published every Wednesday on our YouTube channel, in the Hatxã Kuï, Tukano, Nheengatu, Maxakali, Guarani or Portuguese languages. Presenting different views on the Sun, the cycle interweaves indigenous memories and knowledge with perspectives from astronomy, philosophy, astrology, literature and other areas of knowledge. On Thursdays, we also publish a notebook related to each episode on our website: www.selvagemciclo.com.br/cadernos Follow our networks and our channel to find out about the cycle's releases!
