The fact that the AK Party came second in an election for the first time since 2002 and the CHP won for the first time since the 1977 elections was undoubtedly the most groundbreaking surprise of the year. The opposition had given good hope to its voters. But neither the government let go of the municipalities nor did the opposition have a flawless plan. They ended the whole year lurching. The government, on the other hand, increased its hand. Those who heard MHP leader Bahçeli's call for PKK leader Öcalan to dissolve his organization and make a speech in the Parliament first pinched themselves. A little girl named Narin was killed. The bill paving the way for the killing of homeless animals became law. While the economic indicators were gloomy domestically, the austerity policies introduced with Mehmet Şimşek's package after the general elections made the citizens pay the price of political mistakes, we saw the prayer scene in the Umayyad Mosque with a delay of 13 years after the overthrow of the 61-year Baath regime in Syria. Fortunately, Duman released an album after 13 years, Nisanur Erbil, our women's national volleyball team, Kuzey Tunçelli and our archery team made us proud in the meantime, and social media virals made us smile.
