In this video, I talk about the suffering that my change of social class caused. There was suffering at the time of the transition: geographical uprooting, shame of my body, my clothes, my way of expressing myself, of what I called my cultural shortcomings, my way of standing, of laughing… There was also, and above all, the deep distress of having felt the ties with my family (so great and so loving) wither away. And there is, even today, the feeling of being in some way outside the class. I myself am very grateful to have had access to testimonies from transclass people, who helped me to put words to my experience and to move forward better. I wanted, in turn, to bring one more word on this subject. Moreover, I think that this kind of testimony more generally gives food for thought about class norms, social dominations, etc. FYI, at the beginning of the video, I quickly mention two or three topics that have already been covered quite a bit in other videos, so don't hesitate to skip the beginning if it's repetitive for you.
