In case you didn’t know, there are 17 foods that I eat every day to get six pack abs and to make sure I stay lean all year long. In this video I’m going to cover the foods that I include in my diet every day that help me stay lean and get six pack abs as well as some of the reasons why I choose to include them besides the fact that they taste good. The first food on my list comes with breakfast and that is egg whites. Some of the main benefits of including egg whites in my diet to build muscle is that the 6 egg whites I eat every morning contain 24 grams of protein. Egg whites are a great low calorie breakfast option that contain less fat than other common breakfast proteins like sausage or bacon. Sticking with breakfast, one of the staples of my diet and the meal I eat every day is oatmeal. Not only is it rich in complex carbohydrates to keep me satisfied throughout the day, but it is also high in fiber to help regulate cholesterol and also contains magnesium to help relieve muscle cramps due to my workouts. Add in the fact that oats contain 0 grams of sugar, and we are off to a good start. I also include lactose-free milk in my daily meal plan. I not only have a glass with breakfast, but I use it with my oatmeal and protein shake that I have after the day. I find the low-fat option to be a better choice on a calorie-controlled diet than whole milk, simply because of the amount I consume in a day. I also opt for a fortified version with the addition of vitamins A and D. One food that I eat every day is actually cinnamon. Not only is it loaded with antioxidants, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties and has also been shown to improve insulin sensitivity. This is extremely beneficial for someone focused on building muscle and staying lean in the process. Greek yogurt is another staple of my diet, I eat it for lunch every day. Not only is it high in protein, calcium, and vitamins – Greek yogurt is known to improve gut health thanks to the presence of probiotics. While it is high in protein, some will boast that Greek yogurt contains all the essential amino acids, but the way I top up those proteins is by adding some chia or pumpkin seeds to it. This helps boost the muscle-building properties of the food itself. I’ve gone on record as having a perpetual sweet tooth, but there is a way to keep it under control; I eat frozen yogurt every day. In order to stick to a diet to build muscle and stay lean, while avoiding high-calorie and high-fat sugary sweets, I allow myself a low-calorie dessert that I think tastes delicious. I think it’s important to be able to find options that can curb your sweet tooth, as long as it doesn’t compromise your goals. Something you’ll find on my plate every day is a lean protein. When it comes to building muscle and getting a six pack, protein is going to be one of the most important parts of your diet and it’s certainly something I will never overlook. I opt for chicken, fish, and lean red meat to satisfy my protein needs with every meal, I get 30-50 grams of protein per serving. Not only that, but it can be prepared in many ways to ensure you always enjoy your meal. One food that I eat every day and probably couldn’t live without is pasta. I’m a big believer that carbs are a staple for any muscle building nutrition plan that has any sort of longevity. I truly believe that diets based on deprivation are destined to fail when a healthy eating plan has you responsibly indulging. Pasta not only tastes good, but it also replenishes a lot of glycogen to support a tough workout. So if I can recommend that you eat pasta, I would say go for it, but don’t overdo it because it can definitely lead to weight gain if you don’t pay attention to how much you’re eating. Cruciferous vegetables are an important inclusion in my daily eating plan with quite a few benefits. Not only do they contain free radical-scavenging sulforaphane to help prevent premature aging, but they have also been shown to decrease myostatin activity to unlock new muscle growth.
