Video8 recordings of several steam rides during the celebration of 150 years of Railways in the Netherlands in 1989. At the beginning of the film, steam locomotives 41105 of the StoomStichtingNederland and 41360, currently owned by Dampflok Tradition Oberhausen from Germany, storm together through the small station of Hemmen-Dodewaard. The 41360 had come to Nijmegen via the railway border crossing at Kleve, which has been closed since 1991, and there the 41105 was put in front of the train as a pre-horsepower. This is how this team went to Utrecht via the Betuwelijn. The second scene shows the same train between the A15 viaduct and Geldermalsen station. After this, some images of the shuttle trains between Utrecht CS and the Railway Museum. An Intercity Hondekop and the Blokkendoos trainset Mat.´24 were used for this. The filming took place at the Maliebaan junction. At 6:23 the railway bridge at Culemborg can be seen, where two trains pulled by a 1200 first pass over it. The steam locomotive on this bridge is the Belgian 12 004 of the NMBS that was on the return journey to Antwerp with the so-called Rubens Express. The oncoming 1100 with a colourful freight train then starts to sound its horn because some railway enthusiasts are almost on the track in their enthusiasm. The monumental station of Geldermalsen is the setting for the passage of the 41360 that was on the return journey to Germany with its train. As the last images of a tour of SSN locomotive 41105 with the then formed museum train carriages Plan E. The locomotive made a tour from Utrecht via The Hague, Rotterdam, Tilburg, 's Hertogenbosch, Arkel, Dordrecht Woerden and back to Utrecht. The carriages of this train were of the Plan E type, which were still in normal service at that time. They were somewhat outdated in appearance due to the removal of the blue advertising strips and the NS logos and the application of old class designations 2nd and 3rd class.
