The 90s were a glorious time for comic book-based cartoons. Batman brought dark stories full of fascinating villains, while X-Men adapted story arcs straight from the original comics. And then we had Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Arriving on Fox Kids in 1994 under the direction of writer and producer John Semper and with regular contributions from Stan Lee, the series had five seasons and 65 episodes, which mixed traditional animation techniques with the best 3D graphics available at the time.
