This film chronicle of the early years of 1.FC Köln was made in 1965 and begins with the merger on February 13, 1948, when the two founding clubs, KBC from 1901 and Sülz 07, merged to form 1.FC Köln. Cameraman Caol Serbu compiled the events and accompanied the FC himself with his camera for years. This resulted in the color shots from the golden 60s that are still legendary today. The reason for this chronicle was the 60th birthday of FC founding president Franz Kremer, who invites you to a colorful home story at the end of this film. The chronology of the club's own age was still based on the KBC from 1901. So in 1961 Cologne celebrated 60 years of 1.FC Köln with great self-confidence. The club's traditions therefore go back 122 years today. The text for the film was written by Hans Gerd König, who was best known as the Cologne stadium announcer until 1998. About Carol Serbu: The cameraman was the eye of the FC from the 1960s to the 1990s and documented games and events around the FC as a photographer and filmmaker. In the 70s he became the inventor of video analysis. His main job was as head of the film department at Kaufhof from the 50s. His extensive film work for Kaufhof is unfortunately considered lost. However, a portrait of the ASV Cologne in Manfred Germar's time has been preserved, which we will show here shortly. Carol Serbu last lived in Cologne-Seeberg and died in 2008 at the age of 81.
