Solved example step by step: Hypothesis Test for the population mean with known variance (1 population) Example 2: A researcher wants to study the effect of a certain substance on the reaction time of living beings to a certain type of stimulus. An experiment is developed with guinea pigs, which are inoculated with the substance and subjected to an electrical stimulus, with their reaction time (in seconds) recorded. The following values were obtained: 9.1; 9.3; 7.2; 7.5; 13.3; 10.9; 7.2; 9.9; 8.0 and 8.6. It is assumed that the reaction time generally follows the Normal model with a mean of 8 seconds and a standard deviation of 2 seconds. The researcher suspects, however, that the mean time is changed by the influence of the substance. Test this hypothesis at the 6% significance level. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Video classes on Hypothesis Testing with theory and step-by-step solved examples.
