Welcome to another video here on our channel! We were assembling this capacitor bank, and the Ambassador identified three fatal errors that can compromise the useful life of a capacitor bank. There are some details in the assembly that the assembler needs to observe carefully. When we do not receive a ready-made project, we must be especially careful not to compromise the useful life, especially of the capacitive cells in this bank. The first mistake is not using molded case circuit breakers, which offer a longer useful life and durability due to their ability to withstand higher short-circuit currents. The second mistake is not using specific contactors to switch capacitors. Contactors require a very high magnetization current, so the recommended use is specific contactors, which have what we call a damping resistance or pre-charge resistor, which dampens the capacitor current at the moment of energization. The third and final mistake is not worrying about heat dissipation, that is, not providing enough space between the capacitive cells for them to dissipate heat, especially if they are inside the panel. In addition, it is recommended that this panel, as a whole, have an efficient ventilation system. In our panel, we use an analog thermostat to control the temperature and activate the ventilation system when necessary.
