On August 24th, 2023, I set off from Garmisch (730m) via Reintal - Knorrhütte - Sonnalpin to Germany's highest mountain at 2962m. When I reached the summit, I had the choice of taking the train back to the valley or descending the ascent route. After a brief consideration, I decided on the second option, knowing full well that it would be my greatest challenge to date in terms of fitness. Tour information: Garmisch Skistadion (approx. 730m) - Bockhütte (approx. 950m) - Reintalangerhütte (approx. 1370m) - Knorrhütte (approx. 2100m) - Sonnalpin (approx. 2550m) - Zugspitze (2962m) and descent route analogous to the ascent route. Total length of the tour: approx. 47 km Elevation gain and loss: approx. 5000 Total time including breaks: approx. 14 hours Enjoy watching :-)
