Railway renovations are ongoing. This time, let's take into account the renovation of the viaduct on Kłodnicka. The renovation of this viaduct started on September 30, 2024, at which time line 13 was shortened to the Ligota station, and 51 and 913 were routed on a detour through Piotrowice. A temporary line Z-13 was launched, which followed a circular route from CP Brynów through the Ligota Kolejowa stop. October 9, 2024 in connection with the possibility of passing under the viaduct on Kłodnicka: the journey on the Ligota - Brynów route took place in a transfer system with a pedestrian crossing under the railway viaduct along ul. Kłodnicka line 51 was shortened to the Osiedle Tysiąclecia Pętla - Ligota Kolejowa route line 913 was shortened to the Ligota Dworzec PKP - Panewniki Owsiana route line Z-13 was maintained on the current route according to the new timetable line Z-51 was launched on the Ligota Dworzec PKP - Ligota Akademiki route From December 5, 2024, due to the closure of the crossing under the viaduct on Kłodnicka, the following changes were introduced: lines 51 and 913 were redirected to detour routes through Piotrowice line Z-51 was eliminated the Ligota Dom Kultury (on request) and Ligota Franciszkańska stops were suspended. Ligota station in Katowice has already undergone 2 modernizations. 1 modernization took place in 2014-2015. The interior of the building has been redesigned – in addition to the waiting room and new toilets, passengers will also find commercial and catering premises, where a pharmacy and a newsstand will soon open. As part of the modernisation, a new roof covering and a new elevation were also made, and all installations inside were replaced. The station has been adapted to the needs of disabled people. Paths for the blind and visually impaired have been installed in the building. Toilets have also been adapted. A new passenger information system will also appear in the building. But not completely, because there are no lifts to the platforms for disabled people. Apart from that, the platforms have not been rebuilt at all, as if to spite them. Thanks to the investment, the surroundings of the building have changed. A car park with 16 parking spaces has been built next to the building. Bicycle racks and new benches have appeared at the station. The second modernisation was more of an expansion, i.e. the construction of the Transfer Centre, thanks to which the quality of transfers has improved and we have a car park. The third modernisation of this station is yet to come. Its aim will be to rebuild the platforms, expand the underpass so that it is possible to exit from the railway side, add elevators and add platform 3.
