As you wish, friends, but the Church of the Sign in Dubrovitsy is my favorite building in the entire Moscow region... In 1688, the owner of the Dubrovitsy estate became an associate of Peter I, one of his tutors, Prince Boris Golitsyn. He decided to build a new stone church for the creation of which, according to one version, an Italian architect was invited, according to another, very likely, the church was erected according to the design of the Swedish architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. In the main work of Tessin the Younger - the royal palace in Stockholm - one can feel the influence of Francesco Borromini, Lorenzo Bernini and Palladio, that is, the influence of the emerging classicism. His aesthetics served as one of the sources of Peter the Great's Baroque. It is known that the architect, already being the judicial marshal of the Riksdag of Sweden and having moved away from active architectural creativity since 1712, developed in 1724 for the Russian Tsar Peter I an unrealized project of St. Andrew's Cathedral in St. Petersburg... The church is bright, stylish, festive. Wedding couples love it very much and are happy to take pictures against the backdrop of the brightest architectural joy of the Moscow region...
