Welcome to Yves Gillen's August vegetable garden tour! In this video, Yves shows us how he prepares his production beds for upcoming plantings by sowing green manure, Phacelia. This green manure is essential for enriching the soil and preparing it for future crops. Next, we see him prepare a new bed where he sows turnips and black radishes. To protect his seedlings from predators such as cats and blackbirds, Yves uses nursery trays and applies mulch on either side of the seedlings. This method of protection is both simple and effective, ensuring a better chance of survival for the young shoots. Finally, Yves takes a moment to thin out his carrot seedlings that have sprouted well, thus ensuring better growth for each plant. Join Yves in his vegetable garden and discover his tips and techniques for a thriving and well-maintained garden! Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any of his upcoming gardening tips.
