Joseph, Son of the Well, Chapter 24 Living in the city of Fedan in Babylon, Prophet Jacob had been shepherding the flock of his uncle (Laban), who was the governor of that city, for a long time. The idolatrous people of Fedan made offerings to Ishtar, the mother goddess of Babylon, for rain, and attributed the lack of rain to the gods' displeasure with Jacob's actions.
