Follow our networks ➽ https://engehall.com.br/links_ind =========================================== How an ELECTRIC INTERLOCK WORKS in PRACTICE (Step by Step) Hey my electrician friend!!, welcome to another video here on our channel, in today's video we are going to talk about a very important subject in the area of electrical controls, we are going to talk about INTERLOCKING, and this is one of the most important subjects in electrical control circuits, and it is a way to create a block between two drives, so whenever you need to create a block between two starts, you will use the interlock, one of the most common applications is the direct start with reversal, and it can also be a direct start, a star delta start, a compensator, or any other drive that needs to be interlocked, then regardless of the type of drive, if there is a need to create a block between two drives, then the interlocking will have to be done, this type of application can be found a lot in load transfer between generator and utility, and to do this type of blocking, you will use the NC contacts of each contactor, which are the normally closed contacts, and this interlocking can be in two formats, it can be electrical, or mechanical, the electrical one you will use the NC contacts as I already said, and the mechanical one you will need an accessory, which is a part that is between the two contactors that need to be interlocked, with the installation of this part, the contactors are mechanically interconnected, so that whichever one is activated, blocks the other, creating this type of blocking, you avoid a short circuit between phases, because especially in direct starting with reversal, if there is no such interlocking, a serious accident can happen.
