This year's season in Masuria brought big challenges for farmers. The drought that lasted most of the summer affected the quality and size of sugar beet harvests. ????❌ The lack of adequate rainfall caused the soil to dry out and the plants could not develop properly. The effect? The beets are small, less productive and more like potatoes than the plump roots we are used to. ????➡️???? Drought is not the only problem - high temperatures and lack of proper irrigation led to water stress in the plants, which additionally reduced yields. ???? Farmers from Masuria are struggling with difficulties, and the effects of their work are far from expected.
