It is considered a "historical garden". This garden was owned by the Count of Torre Arias. In 1920 he gave it to a prestigious engineer and architect named Cรฉsar Cort Botรญ, who was a professor of Urban Planning at the School of Architecture as well as a city councilor. It was precisely in the Quinta de los Molinos that he put into practice some of his urbanistic concepts. Upon his death in 1978, the park was semi-abandoned; the heirs reached an agreement with the Madrid City Council in 1982, by which 21 hectares of the estate became the property of the Madrid City Council. Due to its importance in the history of urban planning, a process of restoration and enhancement was initiated, which culminated in the inclusion of the garden in the catalogue of Historic Parks and Gardens of special protection of the City Council. The garden is divided into two clearly differentiated areas: the northern area with a Mediterranean landscape style and the southern area with a marked agricultural character. The park includes various wooded areas in areas of cultivation for almond and olive trees, as well as oaks, pines, eucalyptus and fig trees, among other species, although the star of the park are the almond trees, which flower in February and March, offering a fantastic spectacle. At the top of the northern end of the park, the small palace designed at the beginning of the 20th century has been restored. There is also a pond, a mill and the building known as Casa del Reloj. During the summer, the park hosts cultural activities, such as concerts linked to the Veranos de la Villa. (What is Veranos de la Villa? An intense agenda of concerts, plays, dance, zarzuela, circus, exhibitions and children's activities in venues spread throughout the city for a festival) The architectures that accompany the garden, including the palace house, form a unique ensemble of Madrid architecture from the beginning of the 20th century, especially because there is no garden as extensive and as well preserved from that period in the entire city. ๐ขโ โจIf you liked my channel ๐๐SUBSCRIBE!! ๐๐ You help me a lot and it's FREE! ๐ / lauriguez โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ โ If you want to support this channel, you can do it here ๐ฅฐโฌ๏ธ https://www.paypal.me/lauriguez โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐ฑโจJoin this channel to access its benefits:โฌ / @lauriguez โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐๐ธ NO FORGET TO FOLLOW ME ON MY SOCIAL NETWORKS: ๐ฅฐ ๐๐ธ โฅ INSTAGRAM โฅ ........ Don't forget to SHARE the video if you liked it.
