While studying abroad in Germany, their romantic notion of a house grew, and after returning to Korea, they planned a house where they could live with their children. The wife, Ban Ji-in, said that if they were to build a house, she did not want to live in a square house. So, they designed the L-shaped house with a curve and a 50m-long hallway where the children could run around without worrying about what others thought. Every space where the children run around in the long hallway became a playground. What kind of twists and turns are hidden in this seemingly harmonious house? The couple who own the house bought the land on impulse and built a house because they fell in love with the view from the ground. However, they say they were in complete confusion when they heard that a building taller than 8 meters would be built in front of their house. In order to regain this view, they had to revise the design and spend more money to raise the land. In that case, another problem arose that the view of the house behind them would be damaged. However, the problem did not end there. They even said that they could not use 'electricity, water, gas', which are essential for living in the house. As a result, the design team and the couple faced a situation where the building permit was not issued. It is said that there was something that the wife, Ban Ji-in, specifically requested during the design process of this house. It was that they wanted to keep the children in the couple's sight, whether they were in the living room or the kitchen. Accordingly, the space was designed so that they could cook and wash dishes while looking outside, and this allowed them to keep the children running around freely in the yard in their sight. In addition, according to the wife's request that the kitchen not be cluttered with various items scattered around, drawers were installed throughout the kitchen to secure storage space. As a result, a neat kitchen with wood tones standing out was completed. Thanks to this, the cooking process doesn't feel like work, and even if you prepare a simple snack, you feel like you're preparing a delicious meal for your family. A unique feature of this house is that the couple's bedroom and even the children's room are divided into small sizes. This is because the owner couple valued the common space for time with the children. They reduced the size of the private room where they only sleep and increased the size of the family room where they can spend time with their family. By creating a bed where the family can lie down and roll around together and talking and communicating together, this place has become a warm space where new memories are made for the family. The owner couple said that there were times when they were tired and exhausted from the various difficulties that occurred every day, but they held on to each other and relied on each other to build the house.
