Sandwich tile 140.00~200.00/m², ceramic tile R$26.00/m², an easy choice, right? Really? Since a roof is not made of just tiles, the calculation is not that simple. Based on the function, our roof has to serve as protection against bad weather and invaders, providing comfort and security. In conventional construction, we have as a basic basket a reinforced concrete ceiling slab to prevent invaders and thermally insulate, a plaster ceiling or similar to line the environment (optional), wooden structure and tile (usually concrete or ceramic). However, this entire package can be replaced by a single material that will fulfill practically all of these functions, the sandwich tile, as it is 2 steel sheets (option with only 1 also to add a separate lining). The tile dispenses the use of a slab, already has superior thermal insulation for cold and heat, eliminates a good part of the structure as it is a large metal sheet. See here 50% savings on the roof structure, • HOW TO MAKE A ROOF + 50% ECONOMICAL, already structural, drastically reduces labor and infiltration points by reducing from 12 thousand to 20 tiles to be installed and among other advantages, the most impactful for me, the slope from 5% that allows us to reduce by up to 30% the constructed masonry area. It is not easy to understand how we can save between 50 and 75% on the final value of our roof just by choosing a material that is apparently 8 times more expensive per m², but I tried to explain it in more detail in this video.
